Our Mission
To provide accessible and affordable accommodations for patients and their caregivers while seeking specialty neurologic healthcare in Rochester, MN.
Our Vision
The Neuro Hospitality House in Rochester, MN seeks to inspire the creation of a network of Neuro Hospitality Houses by putting into practice a service model of hospitality near high quality health care organizations.
Our Story
- Created a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based on formal needs assessment in 2008.
- Engaged, dedicated and enthusiastic board members and volunteers with strategic, business, and architectural plans and future construction estimates.
- Acquired, furnished, and supplied a three-bedroom rental house in a strategic and convenient location to serve as proof of concept.
- Welcomed our first guests in 2013 and are now regularly filled to capacity with lengths of stay from two to 300 or more nights.
- Suggested donations per night of stay $40 – $45.
- Served 400 guests per year.
- Debt free.
- In 2022, transitioned from renting a home to partnering with Inns at Centerstone to host our guests.
- Donated our furniture and household items to families who lost their homes due to a tornado in Southern MN.
- New housing partnership allows us to serve more patients and caregivers every year.
Our Future
We plan to build a 20-room house that fulfills our needs consistent with our mission and values as soon as possible.
OUR BOARD
James A. Yolch, MHA
President
Jim Yolch currently serves as Division Chair overseeing consumer products, website operations, and digital analytics as part of Mayo Clinic's Global Business Solutions. He started his career at Mayo Clinic in June 2001 as an administrative fellow and has since had several leadership positions in clinical areas including primary care, executive health, preventive medicine, and endocrinology. Jim has also led several new health and wellness business model and product launches for Mayo Clinic. He is published in multiple healthcare administration journals and given many professional presentations. He currently resides in Rochester, MN with his wife and three children and enjoys spending time supporting their extracurricular endeavors.
Kipp Fesenmaier
Vice President
Kipp Fesenmaier is a Senior Director in the Marketing Department of Mayo Clinic where he oversees all sales and marketing efforts of health information. Kipp is a 30-year health care executive veteran and serial entrepreneur in the surgical services, healthcare technology and medical device industries. Kipp has held multiple board positions with healthcare technology and consumer healthcare product organizations. He has a 20-year history of volunteering for community and sport events. Kipp resides in Rochester, MN with his wife and has three adult children. His family enjoys playing golf, cross-country skiing, reading and gardening.
Peg Mattke
Co-Treasurer
Peg Mattke is retired from a 40+ year career in banking which included work at both Wells Fargo Bank and US Bank in Rochester. Most of her career was spent managing Private Banking and Wealth Management Services where her team provided banking, lending and investment services to their clients. She is a graduate of Mankato State University with a BS degree in finance and accounting. Peg has served on numerous nonprofit boards in the Rochester area including as President of Rochester Area Economic Development Inc., and President of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She is a resident of Lake City and enjoys traveling with her husband, gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce Even
Co-Treasurer
Joyce Even is a retired health care executive with 30+ years of in-depth understanding of health care, finances, data/systems, and content management. She received her MBA from Minnesota State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (retired). Joyce lives in Byron, MN with her husband, Mark. In addition to being a member of the Neuro Hospitality House Board, she is vice president and CFO of the Healing Chapters Foundation. She enjoys golfing, traveling, going to their cabin, and being with their three grown children and their families who all live near-by.

Stephanie Fisher
Past President
Private Banker and Certified Wealth Strategist with Associated Bank, Rochester/Red Wing. Stephanie is an active member of the community including 10 years of volunteer work with Greater Rochester Rotary, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, United Way, Rotary Holiday Classic, and Leadership Greater Rochester. Stephanie lives in Rochester with her husband, Brent, son Mason and stepsons Luke and Jack. She enjoys traveling, golfing and supporting her boys in their extracurricular activities.
Jeff Anneke
Board Member
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Experience in the healthcare industry includes leadership roles in sales, management and business development. Currently Vice President of Business Development at DBS Group- Onalaska, WI/ Rochester, MN. Jeff is an active member of the Rotary Club of Rochester, the Rochester Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of directors at Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity. Interests include muskie fishing, golf, skiing, hiking, health and fitness.
Dr. Narayan Kissoon
Board Member
Neurologist who primarily treats headache and chronic pain disorders. Prior experience in community engagement and has observed the hardships seen by patients when seeking out highly specialized neurological care. He hopes to help ease the burdens faced by patients when seeking care through his involvement in the Neuro Hospitality House.
Liang Zhang
Board Member
Liang Zhang is a research scientist at Mayo Clinic focusing on pediatric brain cancer. She is an active member of the community including volunteer work with the Paws and Claws and The Landing. She hopes to help patients and their families when visiting Mayo Clinic through her involvement through the Neuro Hospitality House.
